This is the main download for the Crystalshire Game client. This is the program you run to play the game! In the download you'll find a stand-alone folder which does not need to be installed. This should contain various files. The only ones you really need to worry about are 'Install.exe' and 'Crystalshire.exe'.

If you do not have the runtimes installed then you need to run 'Install.exe'. This will put all the library files we use on your computer. Think of it as the same as the C++ runtimes you have to install when running a commercial game. These are not unique to Crystalshire. Many programs on your computer will use them. As such these are common files and will be installed to your %system% directory. It is not suggested you remove these files as it will cause other programs to stop working.

'Crystalshire.exe' is the launcher for the game. Running this will show you the patch notes and allow you to automatically download any new game patches which have been released. If you don't need to update then you can simply click 'Play' and start the game! Once in the menu you can log in with your forum account and then create your character.

If you get any errors during all of this then please make sure you run 'Install.exe' correctly. This means if you're running Vista/Win7 that you run the game in compatibility mode for WinXP. You also need to run it as administrator. All the installation instructions are in 'readme.txt'.
